Ebony's personal experiences with stress and her enduring appreciation for beauty and relaxation drove her to establish Nduljé. Nduljé is dedicated to this vision, blending beauty & self-care with luxury to support mental, physical, and emotional well-being.
Our Heritage: A Legacy of Beauty and Entrepreneurship
The journey to beauty and entrepreneurship at Nduljé is deeply rooted in a rich family legacy that spans generations. It all began with Frances Owens, Ebony's great-grandmother, who instilled her family the values of hard work and creativity. Named after her, Ebony's mother embodies these principles as well.
Frances was a remarkable woman with several successful ventures, including her own line of natural hair grease that complemented her long, beautiful hair. She also ran a wash-and-fold laundry business and rented rooms in her home, similar to what we now know as Airbnb. A lover of nature, she cultivated her own food in her home garden, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit and connection to the earth.
These skills and gifts of leadership were passed down to Ebony's mother, who managed restaurants for over 30 years. Her exceptional ability to boost sales in previously underperforming establishments exemplifies her business shows her entrepreneurial spirit. Additionally, she earned her license to sell in St. Louis, demonstrating savvy in private labeling by purchasing products at wholesale prices and reselling them at a profit.
Following in her entrepreneurial footsteps, my mother later managed the equipment and logistics department for the City of St. Louis headquarters. This path mirrors Ebony's own journey in the Air Force, where she pursued a career in Material Management.
This legacy of entrepreneurship and a love for beauty flows through Ebony's veins, inspiring her to create Nduljé and carry on their family tradition.
